Griffintown Pics

First, my camera is in a pitiful state, full of sand inside the lens, so these shots are blurry, and sad, but they try =)

On rue William at Peel (North-East side of rue William)
This building is under construction and is barricaded from everywhere, but it would be cool to get access and take pictures from the fire escape - if that's safe.

On rue Young at rue William (between William and Ottawa)
I really like the colors and the texture, and the door on the 2nd floor that has no landing. It has that eastern European feel.

On rue Eleanor (between William and Ottawa)
This is random, but I like the warm sun on the ride bricks. Just a simple shot against a brick wall could be a good back-up plan.

This is on the north side of the Lachine Canal, If you take rue Seminaire all the way to the dead end going south, it's on the right, and there's also a path to the bikepath.

The problem is it's all fenced off. But a black and white shot (from the inside of the fence) with the construction rubble and the city skyline in the background could be very cool.

This is on the bikepath on the north side of the canal, accessible through rue Commune going south, there is a bike path. Or you can take Murray all the way down to Smith and there's a path that leads to the canal. I think this would also look very cool in black and white. From a certain angle you can see the Five Roses Farine sign, but I also really like the old white building on the left. Old train station. (there was a photographer taking shots who was there before me, so it must have potential!)

Then, same bike path a few feet further, near rue Commune at Smith, there's this classic view. I'm not sure I want this, because it's too touristy..

This is one of my favorites, even though it's the same location as the too-touristy one. From under the train-bridge, I like the widescreen look, but this might not be a good idea for an album cover, which needs to be more square ish,...I liked the way the sun was hitting everything warmly. But again, the five roses farine sign is a landmark and I'm not sure I want something so obvious. But still, it's a neat spot.

                                                 Corner of Shannon and Wellington
This could be black and white. I like the pointy skyscraper and the run-down street (minus the truck)

This is on Rue Young at Ottawa
I like the warm light and the colors, and the old car. I'm thinking of this painting by Giorgio de Chirico, "Mystery and Melancholy of a street" I'd like to re-create something like this, i could be the girl rolling the hoop or something.

On rue William near Murray
I like the texture. Ok, so some of these are pretty random...

View of rue Richmond from rue William
Same street idea as in the painting...
